Terms & Conditions

These Terms & Conditions govern your use of the Create and Make website and your membership with Create and Make. They form a legally binding contract between you and us. Please read them carefully before becoming a member. If you do not understand any part of these terms, please contact us and we will be happy to explain.

These Terms are divided into three sections:

  • Part A - General Website Terms – which apply to all visitors to the website

  • Part B - Service Specific Terms – which apply if you become a member

  • Part C – Event Specific Terms - which apply if you purchase a ticket to an event

1. Definitions and Interpretation

In these Terms, unless the context otherwise requires, the following expressions have the following meanings:

  • Contract – the agreement between you and us for the provision of membership services

  • Meet-Up – a craft meeting, workshop, or social event, whether held in person or online

  • Member – an individual who purchases a Create and Make membership

  • Services – the membership services provided by Create and Make, including access to content, online communities, and Meet-Ups

  • Terms – these Terms & Conditions

2. About Us

The Website and Services are operated by Mala Shah trading as Create and Make.

We are a sole trader based in the United Kingdom.

IMPORTANT SUBSCRIPTION INFORMATION

Create and Make is a subscription service.

When you become a member:

  • You commit to an initial minimum membership term of three (3) months

  • After the initial three-month period, your membership will automatically continue on a rolling monthly basis

  • Membership fees are payable monthly in advance

  • Membership will continue until cancelled by you or by us in accordance with these Terms

If we increase the membership price, we will give you reasonable advance notice. You may cancel your membership before the increase takes effect.

3. Cooling-Off Rights

If you are a consumer, you have the right to cancel your membership within 14 days of the date your account is opened, without giving any reason.

This cooling-off right:

  • Applies only to your initial subscription

  • Does not apply to subsequent monthly renewals

To exercise your right to cancel, you must notify us by email at hello@createmake.co.uk within the 14-day period.

If you cancel during the cooling-off period, we will refund all payments you have made to us within 14 days of receiving your cancellation request, using the same payment method you used when signing up.

PART A – GENERAL WEBSITE TERMS

These terms apply to all visitors to the Website.

4. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use this Website or become a Member. Create and Make is intended for consumers only and not for use by businesses.

5. Website Access

The Website is provided on an “as available” basis. We do not guarantee uninterrupted access and are not responsible if the Website is temporarily unavailable due to technical issues beyond our reasonable control.

6. Intellectual Property

All content on the Website, including text, images, videos, branding, and logos, is owned by or licensed to us. You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, or use any Website content without our prior written permission.

7. Links to Third-Party Websites

The Website may contain links to third-party websites. We are not responsible for the content, operation, or policies of those websites and accept no liability for any loss or damage arising from their use.

8. Liability (Website Use)

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.

Subject to this, we are not liable for any indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of the Website, including loss of data, loss of profit, or business interruption.

9. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Any changes will take effect once published on the Website. You are encouraged to review the Terms periodically.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

PART B – SUBSCRIPTION SPECIFIC TERMS (MEMBERS)

These terms apply if you become a Member.

11. Online Accounts

To access membership benefits, you must create an online account and provide accurate, complete, and up-to-date information.

You are responsible for:

  • Keeping your login details confidential

  • All activity that takes place under your account

We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these Terms or misuse the Services.

12. The Services

We provide a digital membership that may include:

  • Access to online content

  • Virtual Meet-Ups

  • In-person Meet-Ups

  • Online community spaces (such as WhatsApp or social platforms)

We will provide the Services with reasonable skill and care.

We reserve the right to make reasonable changes to the Services, provided such changes do not materially reduce the overall value of the membership.

Attendance numbers at Meet-Ups cannot be guaranteed.

13. Meet-Ups

Meet-Up dates, times, and locations may occasionally need to change. Where this happens, we will provide reasonable notice and offer an alternative arrangement of a similar nature and value.

If a Meet-Up is cancelled entirely and no reasonable alternative is offered, we will provide an appropriate partial refund or credit reflecting the cancelled element of the Service.

Running times for Meet-Ups are approximate and may vary depending on participation.

No refreshments or materials are included unless expressly stated.

Member Non-Attendance
Membership fees cover access to the Services as a whole and are not refundable for individual Meet-Ups that you cannot attend.

If you are unable to attend a scheduled Meet-Up, no refunds will be provided for missed Meet-Ups.

14. Community Behaviour

When attending Meet-Ups or participating in online communities, you agree to:

  • Treat others with respect

  • Avoid offensive, abusive, or discriminatory language

  • Not attend events while intoxicated

  • Not use the community for advertising or promotion

  • Not post unlawful, harmful, or misleading content

We may remove content or suspend membership if behaviour breaches these rules.

By attending events, you consent to photographs or videos being taken for promotional purposes, unless you inform us otherwise in advance.

15. Cancellation After the Initial Period

After completing the initial three-month minimum term, you may cancel your membership at any time by giving at least one month’s written notice by email to hello@createmake.co.uk.

Cancellation will take effect at the end of your current billing period. No refunds are payable for part-used membership periods.

16. Termination by Us

We may terminate your membership by giving at least one months notice if necessary, including where:

  • You breach these Terms

  • You misuse the Services

  • Continued provision of the Services is no longer viable

PART C – EVENT SPECIFIC TERMS

These terms apply if you buy a ticket to an event.

17. Tickets

All tickets must be purchased in advance unless otherwise stated.
A ticket grants entry to the specific event listed at the time of purchase.
Tickets are valid only for the named event and date.

18. Refunds & Transfers

All ticket sales are final. Tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable.

If you are unable to attend, your ticket cannot be transferred to another person.

We are not responsible for non-attendance due to personal circumstances, illness, travel disruption, or other events outside our control.

19. Changes or Cancellation by Us

We reserve the right to change the event date, time, venue, or content where reasonably necessary.

If we cancel an event entirely, you will be offered either:

  • A full refund of the ticket price; or

  • The option to transfer your ticket to a rescheduled date (if applicable).

Our liability in respect of cancelled events is limited to the ticket price paid.

20. Attendance & Conduct

All attendees must behave respectfully towards:

  • Other guests

  • Event hosts

  • Venue staff

Attendees must comply with:

  • Venue house rules

  • Health and safety requirements

  • Any reasonable instructions given by event organisers or venue staff

We reserve the right to refuse entry or remove any attendee who:

  • Behaves in a disruptive, unsafe, abusive, or inappropriate manner

  • Is intoxicated or under the influence of drugs

  • Fails to comply with venue rules or event instructions

No refund will be given to any attendee who is refused entry or removed from an event due to breach of these terms.

21. Personal Belongings

Attendees are responsible for their own belongings. We accept no liability for loss, theft, or damage to personal items.

22. Photography & Media

We may take photographs or videos at events for promotional purposes. By attending, you acknowledge that you may appear in such materials.

If you do not wish to appear in promotional content, please notify us before or during the event.

23. Liability (Services)

Nothing in these Terms limits our liability where it cannot legally be limited.

Subject to this, our total liability to you in connection with your membership shall not exceed the total membership fees paid by you in the 12 months preceding the claim.

We are not responsible for losses arising from factors outside our reasonable control.

24. Force Majeure

We are not liable for failure or delay in providing the Services due to events beyond our reasonable control, including natural disasters, strikes, or government action. If such an event occurs, we will notify you as soon as reasonably possible.

25. Complaints

If you have a complaint, please contact us by email at hello@createmake.co.uk. We will review and respond within a reasonable time.

26. Severability

If any part of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.
