Sew a Skirt in a day | One Day Workshop

from £99.00

Join us for a day of sewing, learning, and making something that's uniquely yours.

When: 26th July 2026 | 10:00 - 16:00

Where: Edlesborough Pavilion and Community Hub, The Green, Edlesborough, Dunstable LU6 2JF

In this hands-on workshop, you'll learn how to create a half or quarter circle skirt drafted to your own measurements. You’ll be guided through every step, from taking accurate measurements and creating your pattern, to cutting your fabric, applying interfacing, and inserting an invisible zip for a beautiful professional finish.

Whether you're looking to build your sewing confidence or add a new skill to your toolkit, you'll spend the day making alongside fellow creatives in a relaxed and supportive environment. There'll be plenty of time for questions, expert guidance throughout, and the satisfaction of watching your skirt come together piece by piece.

What's Included

✂️ A full day of expert tuition and guidance
✂️ Interfacing and an invisible zip for your skirt
✂️ A detailed workbook to take home (RRP £14.99)
✂️ A skirt pattern drafted to your own measurements
✂️ Use of irons and cutting mats
✂️ A welcoming space to learn, create, and connect with fellow makers

What You'll Need to Bring

🧵 Your sewing machine with correct needles and pedal
🧵 A basic sewing kit, including fabric scissors, pins or clips, a tape measure, chalk or erasable pen, and any other tools you like to work with
🧵 Your chosen fabric (we'll provide fabric requirements before the workshop)

Don't have a sewing machine? We have two machines available to hire for £15 each for the day. These are offered on a first-come, first-served basis, so we recommend booking early if you'd like to reserve one. If you would like to use one of our machine please select this option when booking.

Previous experience

To get the most from this workshop, you should understand the basics of how to use a sewing machine and be able to get it threaded up. If you’re new to sewing and would like to give it a go, our make a tote bag workshop might be better suited to you as we go through threading up a machine and the different stitches.

Come with fabric, curiosity, and a willingness to have a go. You'll leave with new skills, a handmade skirt, and the confidence to make another at home. 💛
